On 63rd Republic Day of India.

My post is inspired by an article written by a lady saying - ""God bless America". In her post, she thanked Jejus, the America, good people who helped her in her ups and downs and US military for her and her family's survival and life during escape from communist Cuba.

Well on  63rd Indian Republic day, I would also like to thank God for giving us birth in free India. India had suffered the 200 years of slavery and our great patriots sacrificed their lives to get the Independence. Being an Indian, my duty doesn't get fulfilled with flag hoisting and reciting National Anthem, I pay my homage to all the great Indian warriors and take this opportunity to thank every Indian; a teacher, a policeman, an administrator, a scientists and a researchers, an entrepreneur, a student, a media person, a politician .....who understood their responsibilities and committed their best to flourish India (doesn't matter to what extent). In spite of evils in the society Indian owe a sense of responsibilities, values and dedication, which is the biggest asset of India.

I wish every Indian a Happy Republic Day and Jai Hind.

Gita is not an extremist literature says Russian court

In an historic verdict, Russian court said that there is nothing extremist in the Gita, a sacred literature of Hindus. Russian court rejects the plea to ban Gita and said it was "one of the interpretations of the sacred Hindu scripture Bhagwad Gita and there was no ground to recognize the book as extremist literature .

It's a big win for Indian mythology, its believers and ISKCON members who protested the Siberian state prosecutors demand for the ban. The prosecutors had asked the court to include the book on the "Russian federal list of extremist materials", which also includes Adolf Hitler's "Mein Kampf".

The verdict came a day after external affairs minster SM Krishna met Russian envoy Alexander Kadakin and told him to provide all possible help to resolve the issue, which has been in the court for the last 6 months.

On release of verdict, SM Krishna said, "This demonstrates yet again that the people of India and Russia have a deep understanding of each other's cultures."

Russia and India are the great neighbors, political friends and this has been proved again on the human grounds as well.
