Tuberculosis and a year 2012

Tuberculosis is an airborne infectious disease that targets the world's most vulnerable population. Major of all TB cases occur in the developing world due to Poor health systems, Ignorance and out-of-date technology which seriously hinder efforts to stop the spread of TB.

TB is treatable and medication is affordable in the most endemic countries. Studies show, one TB patient can infect 15 in a year. The major reasons for the spread of this dreadful diseases are:
1) Delay in diagnosis
2) Lack of awareness
3) Ignorance
4) Discontinuation of the treatment

Successfully completing treatment requires a patient to adhere to a fairly strict daily regimen.

The Directly Observed Therapy (DOTs) Centres are playing vital role in controlling TB and their approach is pioneer in poor setting.
Media initiation and contribution will be appreciated in spreading the awareness against the disease to achieve zero Tuverculosis deaths with the combined efforts of the group of NGOs, Private practitioners, Members from Health dept and Government.

Government's vision involving the mass in the mission is remarkable by providing a platform to a common man to work as "DOT Karyakarta" and serve to mankind.

Join hands against TB and make India TB free.
